I was born in Gaffney, SC. Sept. 17th 1954 as the second son among four boys. After a few years, we began to move to several other places in Georgia and North Carolina and finally settled down on a farm located near Westminster, S.C. in the mid 1960s. After several years of "sowing my wild oats" (and some of y'all know what I mean) I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior on January 2nd 1972.

Then upon graduating from Oakway High School in 1972 I attended North Greenville College and after one year, on May 27th 1973, married my longtime (since the 6th grade) high school sweetheart, Janice! I went on to finish 2 years at North Greenville and transferred to Clemson University where I graduated in 1975. That is when my singing career began.

Janice and I were married 10 years before our first "miracle baby girl" Kristen Michelle was born. Then in seven years our baby boy, Jay Isaac was born. The long story made short is that Janice was not supposed to be able to have any children (according to the doctor) but Praise and Glory be to God, we now have two beautiful children. We have now celebrated 37 years (May 27th, 2010) of happy, and I do mean HAPPY marriage! God has been so good to us as a family! Kristen and Chad have two wonderful boys and Janice and I are thoroughly enjoying the Pop and Noonoo stage of life as grandparents.

God has used so many people over the years to be instrumental and influential in my life to help me become who I am today and I am forever thankful! I love you and thank you always for your prayers.

The Lord never ceases to amaze me. He is constantly blessing us individually and in our ministry. I'm so thankful that He chose me and then led me to become a part of this group. It's been 14 years now and I still feel honored each and every time we stand to sing.

God has graciously anointed and put His blessing on this group and I pray that it is always evident in our services. God has allowed me to go through some "not so pleasant" experiences in the last few years. I know now that everything I've been through has happened in order for me to be able to share my testimony with others and maybe help them in some small way. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to live out my dream through singing.

We've met so many precious people and made some lifelong friends. I have a wonderful husband, Mike, who has made what I do possible. He is totally dedicated to going with us every week and being our "roadie" as he calls it. He unloads and loads the equipment several times a weekend and takes "babysitting" duty while I sing. We have a 14-year-old son, Levi and an 11-year-old daughter, Taylor. I'm thankful for their health and for their willingness to go. It wouldn't be the same without them.
